system, lightweight con-rods and a fully balanced crankshaft
for smooth running at high rpm, make for one of the most

ferociously powerful, yet remarkably compliant and refined,
they’re the heart, soul and voice of every Type R.
The Type R chassis has been designed to respond immediately
to the driver’s command. By using a MacPherson strut
at the front and a rear torsion beam configuration at the
back the new Civic Type R enjoys the optimum balance between
weight and performance.
The result is sharp, responsive steering, stability and
rigidity during cornering and the maintenence of a level
of ride comfort that makes it easy to drive - every

of large 300mm ventilated front discs and 260mm solid rear
discs.
When combined with Honda’s Electronic Brake-force
Distribution system (EBD), Brake-force Assist (BA) and Anti-lock
Brakes System (ABS) the driver has the capacity to quickly
stop the vehicle in wet or dry conditions.
