Unleashed recently, the hot new HSV VXR Turbo Hatch is the ultimate street fighter. With aggressive european styling and 177kw, it's the complete package. Goose bumbs Guaranteed.

 

This hot hatch launches from 0-100kmh in around 6 seconds thanks to the 2.0 Litre, 16v ECOTEC-4 turbo engine, punching out an exhilarating 177kW at 5600 rpm. This revolutionary engine sends the VXR Turbo to the top of the four-cylinder class. Its powerful secret is a lighter, more compact turbocharger that delivers advanced low-end torque for immediate and responsive acceleration.

 

The front wheel drive HSV VXR features a 6-speed close-ratio manual transmiision and a high-performance braking system comprising 321mm x 28mm internally ventilated front disk brakes and 278mm x 10mm solid disk rear brakes.

 

The VXR Turbo’s suspension system is designed for true sports performance. Equipped with a lowered and uprated Sports Suspension system, the VXR Turbo packs McPherson strut front suspension and a torsion-beam rear axle plus an IDS chassis control system featuring Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control, ABS and brake assist.

Firmer springs and shock absorber rates complement the chassis control system to reduce body roll.

 

This superb machine is also fitted with huge 19-inch, European styled, 10 spoke alloy wheels designed exclusively for the VXR Turbo. Combined with 235/35 R19 ultra low-profile tyres, the VXR Turbo provides maximum street style and an ultimate feel for the road.

 

The HSV VXR's interior features a radio/CD player with 6 speakers and steering wheel mounted controls, sports seats with leather and trimmed side bolsters and unique three spoke steering wheel and VXR aluminium effect gear knob. The VXR has carbon fibre-effect inserts on facia and doors and unique VXR instrument cluster panel with stepper motor speedometer and tachometer

 

And when it comes to safety and security, VXR is obviously an HSV, with front passenger's and front seat side impact airbags, curtain airbags, an anti-lock bracking System (ABS) and a remote control ultrasonic security alarm system.
