The Mazda3 MPS comes with its own rocket launcher. Its advanced Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) turbocharged engine delivers a thrilling 190kW of power and 380Nm of torque.

But great power is delivered with great control. Intake volume and boost pressure are both carefully regulated to ensure smooth, linear torque delivery. Torque for take off is also optimised, so steering wheel response is more measured and precise.

Mazda3 MPS's compact, lightweight already extremely rigid body has been specially stiffened for highly responsive handling, whatever the conditions. While for confidence and agility at every turn, suspension has also been upgraded with the MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear set-ups combining to achieve a 60% increase in roll stiffness.

The 6-speed manual transmission is good to go, too. Take quick, clean shifts all the way through to sixth, where you'll enjoy quiet cruising and greater fuel economy. The Limited Slip Differential optimises torque distribution between the front wheels, giving you maximum traction through corners.

Cornering capability is also enhanced by Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), an advanced system that manages engine output and braking force to help prevent skidding. While large diameter 4-wheel disc brakes mean you can stop on a dime, every time.

One look inside the Mazda3 MPS and your blood will begin to run hot. A black toned interior creates an ambience of quality. MPS logos and red stitching on the seats combine with a leather-clad gear knob to announce sporting intent. The semi-bucket front seats provide firm support and drilled aluminium pedals and stainless steel scuff plates mark the cabin out as a place for spirited driving. The visually arresting sports instrumentation features a blackout style speedometer in the central position, while amber-red backlighting and indirect blue illumination improve readability while also minimising fatigue during dusk and night driving. Audio and cruise-control buttons are steering wheel mounted, leaving your eyes to concentrate on the road.
