The Star of the show - Suzuki Kizashi

Suzuki was the undoubted star of the last New York International Auto Show with the unveiling of the latest incarnation of its exciting Kizashi 3 midsize car. Due to arrive on Australian shores late next year, the Kizashi 3 concept car revealed the sports sedan version of a vehicle line-up that will also include a crossover.

“The unveiling of sports wagon.Kizashi 3 is an important day in the continuing rise of Suzuki in this country,” said Suzuki Australia General Manager Tony Devers. “We are one of the fastest growing brands in Australia despite competing in less than 50 per cent of the market, and the addition of a superb vehicle like Kizashi will help confirm Suzuki’s status as a significant force in the country.

“With more than 2.3 million sales last year, Suzuki is truly a global brand and the imminent arrival of Kizashi represents a landmark in our mission to consolidate Suzuki as a major player in Australia.”

The closest to production variation of the Concept Kizashi series, Kizashi 3 embodies Suzuki’s interpretation of the sport sedan segment. The ‘super sport’ identity – a core component of the Suzuki brand DNA – is complemented by the vehicle’s overall mission to provide powerful, refined urban performance.

Kizashi 3 is powered by an advanced 3.6-litre V6 with plated cylinders – a weight and friction saving technology evolved from Suzuki’s WRC and MotoGP development teams.

Producing 221 kW of power, Kizashi 3 drives all four wheels via a silky smooth six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

“Suzuki prepares to celebrate 100 years in 2009, Kizashi 3 has shown there’s never been a more exciting moment in our history,” said Devers.
